Melbourne Pet Friendly Cafes

For too long our best furry friends have been pushed aside while we pop in to the café for our weekend coffee pit stop.  With a bowl of water at their feet they wait patiently outside tethered to a pole or a bench for their humans to finish off their double shot caramel soy latte. But fear no more people, we have found some special places where you and your best friend can enjoy a pupcake (or a pint) together in the warm summer sun.

The Farm Café (Collingwood Children’s Farm)
The Farm Café is perched on the beautiful surrounds of the Collingwood Children’s Farm which arguable one of the the most beautiful open spaces in Melbourne.  With a very homely and warm style of cooking you are treated to this country in the city style escape. The best news is you can bring your dogs (and your kids) to be treated to the lush greenery that surrounds the café. After being treated to some delicious fare like Farmers Breakfast and Goat’s Toast, you and your four legged friend can roam the grounds for hours.

Convent Bakery
Also nestled just a stone’s throw away from the Collingwood Children’s Farm, the Convent bakery is on the ground of the Abbotsford Convent which boasts 11 historical buildings and is also one of Melbourne’s most important art, educational and cultural precinct’s.  Take your  pooch along with you to the grounds, sit on the lawn, grab a coffee, a pie or a pizza and take in the breathtaking views of of the convent ground. Afterwards you can stroll with your buddy to the banks of the Yarra River.

Dog House- Melbourne’s first café dedicated solely to Man’s Best Friend.
The Doghouse Café in Collingwood is Melbourne’s first café solely dedication to servings man’s best friend. Unlike the cat cafes where you pay to play with cats, you bring your dog here to be spoilt. Doghouse stock raw grass-fed beef which comes from Felice’s Place Gourmet Butcher.  You’ll be pleased to know Felice’s supplies some of the top restaurants in town, so you know your dogs are in good hands. The menu boasts some delicious treats for your doggo like a Dogachino and a Pupcake (all made especially for dogs of course). So come along with your furry friends, there are 10 gated booths for your enjoyment, to ensure no scuffles break out, and give your pup a day to remember.
